Questions about Bert:

Q: How did you get the name Bertrand?

A:  My dad named me after Bertrand Russell.  If you don't know who he is, you should Google him.  He's pretty cool.  I like my birth name, but go by Bert.

Q:  What are you?

A:  I'm second generation Chinese-American.  My folks are immigrants from Hong Kong and I was born in Oakland, California.

Q:  What do you do when you're not making photographs?

A:  I'm often spending time with my wife and four-legged children, shown below.  I've also been known to cook fish in inappropriate places and enjoy games of all varieties.  I currently actively play the World of Warcraft: Trading Card Game.

Q:  What kind of gear do you shoot with?

A:  I currently shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II camera body with professional L-series lenses primarily.  I usually prefer natural lighting, but have lighting equipment available when the mood strikes me or the occasion calls for it.

Q:  What style of photographer are you?

A:  I consider myself a portrait photographer who tends towards photojournalism.  I prefer to photograph moments as they unfold during the day/during a session and I capture those moments for you.

A:  That depends on the service you are requesting!
